Abstracts
If my abstract is accepted as part of the annual meeting program will I be automatically registered for the meeting?
Meeting registration and abstract submission are two separate processes. You still need to register and pay for the meeting even if your abstract is accepted into the meeting program.
My abstract was accepted but I can't attend the annual meeting. What should I do?
If your abstract is accepted, but you are unable to attend the meeting, please try to secure an alternate person to present on your behalf. If you are unable to do this, please notify the AChemS Executive Office as soon as possible and let us know you are withdrawing your poster.
Registration
What is included in the meeting registration fee?
The meeting registration fee includes: one ticket to the Welcome Banquet on Wednesday evening and a light continental breakfast each morning of the conference. You may also attend any of the symposia and workshops.
Are there any separate meeting events that I need to register for that are not included in the registration fee?
If you wish to attend the Clinical Luncheon or the Industry Reception, you may purchase tickets while registering for the general meeting. Tickets for these events will also be available for purchase onsite at a higher ticket price.
Are there any meeting events included in the registration fee that I need to RSVP for?
We ask that you RSVP if you are planning to attend the Welcome Banquet and/or the ChEMA Social (open to AChemS members only). You may indicate your intention to attend these events on the meeting registration form.
Can my spouse/child attend the Welcome Banquet and partake in the continental breakfasts?
Guest tickets can be purchased for $100 ($35 for children under the age of 14). Guest tickets must be purchased for non-meeting registrants to participate in the Welcome Banquet and/or continental breakfasts.
What is the meeting registration refund policy?
The meeting refund policy is as follows:
- Cancellations and/or changes must be made in writing and emailed to info@achems.org or faxed to 952-545-6073.
- Cancellations will be allowed, less a $25 processing fee, until March 19, 2011.
- Cancellations occurring between March 20 - March 26 will receive a 50% refund of total registration fees.
- NO REFUNDS WILL BE ISSUED AFTER APRIL March 27, 2011.
How can I obtain my AChemS login information?
If you do not remember your username and password please contact the Executive Office at (952) 646-2035 or info@achems.org to retrieve your login information.
Hotel
Why should I stay at the host hotel?
Although there are less expensive hotels to stay at in the St. Pete Beach area, staying at the host hotel (Tradewinds Island Grand or the Sandpiper) helps keep registration fees low and supports AChemS by helping us meet our contractual commitments with the Tradewinds.
What does it cost to park at the Tradewinds?
For those staying at the Tradewinds, parking is complimentary. Parking is $10 per day for those staying at another hotel.
Can I use the facilities at the Tradewinds (pool, beach cabanas, activity center) if I am staying at another hotel?
Tradewinds facilities may only be used by individuals staying at the Island Grand or Sandpiper.
I will be sharing a room with another AChemS meeting attendee. How can I make sure the final bill is split to correctly reflect payment?
In order to make sure you are able to easily split your hotel bill at the end of the conference, you must ask for a "split room charge" when making you reservations or at the time of check in.
Will the oil spill affect the AChemS 2011 meeting?
The AChemS Executive Office is working closely with the Tradewinds to monitor how the oil spill will affect the St. Pete Beach area. We encourage you support AChemS and the local economy by attending AChemS 2011 despite the oil spill.
