ACHEMS ANNUAL DUES PAYMENT POLICY
Approved June 2005

1) Dues are paid on an annual basis for a July 1 to June 30 fiscal year. Dues payments will be accepted at anytime during the fiscal year, but must be paid in order to vote or receive other membership privileges for that year.

2) If a member's dues lapses, that member is kept on the AChemS mailing list for up to 3 years (for dues reminders, meeting announcements etc), but is not allowed any membership privileges.

3) Paid in full members only will be counted in the census of AChemS membership.

4) When a member with dues in arrears pays dues, those dues are applied to the current year in which the payment is received, and immediately reinstates membership. Any past dues owed are deleted from their record. The only exception is if the lapsed member pays dues in the final month of the fiscal year and requests their dues be applied to the next fiscal year.

5) After 3 years of lapsed dues, the lapsed member is changed to "nonmember" status and must reapply as a new member if joining in the future.
