A Day In Wine Country - Thursday, July 24, 2008 - SOLD OUT

Blessed with almost perfect climate for growing grapes, Northern California has become the most prestigious wine-producing center in the United States. The vineyards are nestled amid the golden hills of Sonoma and Napa Valleys, located only 1½ hours north of the Bay Area.
We'll take a loop route, crossing two bridges. Starting in Napa, we'll view the hand hewn stone and modern wineries. Growing here are the varietal grapes that produce the fine wines for which the region is famous - Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc, Fume Blanc, Cabernet sauvignon, Merlot and Zinfandel. At a carefully selected winery, guides will await to lead you through the processes of wine-making. A tasting of wines will follow. Take home a souvenir glass flute.
On the other side of the mountain in Sonoma, you can relive early California history...seeing the historic Town Square, its Spanish Mission and adobe ruins. We will stop at two Sonoma wineries before returning to San Francisco.
Time: 12:30pm - 6:00pm
Cost: $50.00 per person
