Don Tucker Memorial Award

The Don Tucker Memorial Award is made to a graduate student member of AChemS who makes an outstanding presentation at the annual AChemS meeting. The awardee's name is added to a plaque at the entrance to the Don Tucker Memorial Conference Room at Florida at State University. The award is $500, which is mailed to the recipient after the meeting. The award announcement is made at the following year's Welcome/Awards Ceremony. To apply, check the appropriate box during the online abstract submission process in addition to submitting the required supporting documentation.

ELIGIBILITY
The applicant must be a graduate student at the time of abstract submission and must be a member of AChemS.  The graduate student applicant must be the first author on the abstract and the presenter of the poster or talk that is being considered for the award. 

HOW TO APPLY

All applications for the Don Tucker Memorial Award should be submitted via the online abstract submission system.  During the application process, you will be asked to upload a single PDF containing the following items:

1) A letter from the student, including a summary of the student’s contribution to the work, asking to be considered for the Don Tucker Memorial Award.
2) A letter of recommendation from the student’s advisor supporting the nomination.

No more than two students from a laboratory will be considered for the award in any given year.
