Don Tucker Memorial Award

Don Tucker Memorial Award
The Don Tucker Memorial Award is made to a graduate student member of AChemS who makes an outstanding presentation at the annual AChemS meeting. The awardee's name is added to a plaque at the entrance to the Don Tucker Memorial Conference Room at Florida at State University. The award is $500, which is mailed to the recipient after the meeting. The award announcement is made at the following year's Welcome/Awards Ceremony. To apply, check the appropriate box during the online abstract submission process in addition to submitting the required supporting documentation.

Eligibility:
Graduate students who are AChemS members. The graduate student must be the first author on the abstract and the presenter of the poster or talk that is being considered for the award.

Documentation for the nomination must include:
1) A letter from the student, including a summary of the student’s contribution to the work, asking to be considered for the Don Tucker Memorial Award
2) A letter of recommendation from the student’s advisor supporting the nomination
3) A copy of the abstract to be considered. No reprints should be submitted.

No more than two students from a laboratory will be considered for the award in any given year. All nominations must be postmarked by January 3, 2011 and sent electronically to info@achems.org.
